The nominees for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced.

The best alternative category nominees are Twenty One Pilots' "Drag Path," mgk and Fred Durst's "FIX UR FACE," Noah Kahan's "The Great Divide," Tame Impala's "Dracula," sombr's "Homewrecker," Geese's "Taxes" and Olivia Rodrigo's "the cure."

Unlike in previous years, the nominations list does not include a best rock category.

The 2026 MTV VMAs will air live on Sept. 27 starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+. Voting is open through Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. ET via Vote.MTV.com.
